Staff Training and Emergency Action Plan Drills
SidelineOps delivers hands-on emergency preparedness training for all key stakeholders so your team knows their role before a crisis forces the answer. Training is available in three formats: a 1-hour orientation, a half-day workshop, or a full-day training with live scenario drills. This is the service for organizations that already have an EAP - or are building one - and need their staff to be able to execute it.
Formats, Delivery, and Inclusions
Regardless of format, every SidelineOps staff training session:
-
Is conducted by Anna Sundy, LAT, ATC - a licensed and board certified athletic trainer
-
Is venue-specific and staff-specific, not a generic course adapated from a template
-
Covers your actual EAP: the activation sequence, roles, AED locations, and communication for your facilities
-
Includes a CPR/AED review so staff can act confidently before EMS arrives
-
Covers emergency recognition - what a cardiac event, a head injury, and a heat emergency look like at the onset, not only once they have advanced.
-
Ends with a participation record you can use to document your annual rehearsal
1-Hour EAP Orientation
A focused session covering the activation sequence, staff roles, AED, and emergency equipment locations, and communication chain for your specific venues. This format is ideal for pre-season all-staff meetings, coaching staff refreshers, and programs completing their annual rehearsals. Staff leave knowing what to do and where to go.
Half Day Workshop
A deeper session that covers the 1-hour orientation content and tabletop scenario walkthroughs. Staff work through venue-specific scenarios - a cardiac event at the gym, a heat emergency at the practice field - talking through their roles, communication steps, and AED response in the order the plan requires. This format gives staff the opportunity to ask questions and surface gaps before they matter.Recommended for programs building a training culture, new coaching staff, or any organization returning to training after a gap.
Full Day Training
The most thorough format. Covers the orientation content, the tabletop scenarios, and adds live, venue-specific drill simulations where staff execute their roles in real time. Drills are conducted at your actual facilities and staged around the scenarios your program faces: athletic events, practice settings, and off-site venues your teams use. Staff finish with direct experience of activating EMS, operating the AED at its actual location, running the communication tree, and meeting the ambulance. This format satisfies the annual rehearsal requirement under G.S. 115C-407.58 with a documented record of participation.
Who This is For
Staff training is built for athletic programs, camps, and administrators who are responsible for the safety of athletes, campers, and staff and want their staff to be genuinely prepared and not just trained on paper.
It is the right next step for programs that:
-
Have a completed EAP and need to fullfill annual training requirements
-
Have a new coaching staff who have never walked through the plan
-
Are approaching a season and want staff condient in their roles before the first event
-
Had an incident or a near-miss and want to rebuild staff readiness.
